The final two years of school open up pathways to future possibilities for further study and career aspirations for each student. We offer three pathways to graduation, with two options through the IB.

Hunter Valley Grammar School offers three learning pathways for students in Years 11 and 12:

  • the Higher School Certificate (HSC)
  • the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme and
  • the IB Career-related Programme.

All three pathways equip students for the next stage of their life journey, whether this is university study, the world of work or a combination of both.

Academic Achievement

There is no doubt that the pursuit of academic excellence is of utmost importance. Equally vital, however, is a balanced education that nurtures each student’s potential and is grounded in our core values, developing young people of character and capability.

Whilst we are not an academic selective school, HVGS students consistently achieve strong results and academic attainment reflective of growth. This is because we provide the optimal learning environment for our students to flourish, develop positive attitudes about learning, and take risks in the classroom and beyond.
