At HVGS, we start with your child. Your first conversation with us will be about who your child is and who you want them to become.

When a student comes to Hunter Valley Grammar School, we meet them where they are to get them where they need to be.  We aim to make enrolling a collaborative and enjoyable opportunity for us to learn more about one another.

Our main entry points are Kindergarten, Year 7, and Year 10, with enrolments typically opening two years in advance. However, we welcome applications for all year levels throughout the year, subject to vacancies.

We do manage waitpools at most year levels, so it is important that you contact us as early as possible.

Please find below the steps for enrolment.

1

Book a Tour

The first step is to visit us. It's important that families get to know us better, get a feel for our campus and meet our students and staff.

There are many opportunities to visit us at our Open Mornings, on Small Group Tours, or our very popular Personal Tours.

2

Join the Waitpool

To enrol in Kindergarten to Year 12, complete our Application for Admission and pay the $250 Application Fee to join the Waitpool.

If you are interested in the Early Learning Centre, complete an Application for Admission and pay the $75 Application Fee.

We only enrol students from our Waitpool, and the successful submission of this form does not guarantee a place. Siblings of current students, staff children, and children of alumni will be given preference for vacancies.

3

Complete the Enrolment Form

Once your child is in the Waitpool, our Enrolments Team will send you the full Enrolment Form to complete.

At this step, we may ask for more information about your child's medical or learning requirements. We will also contact your child’s current school for information related to your child’s learning, behaviour, and wellbeing.

4

Pre-Enrolment Meet and Greet

When we receive your completed Enrolment Form and any additional information, our Team will review it and send you an invitation to a Meet and Greet.

The Meet and Greet is an opportunity for you to ask questions and for our Team to get to know your child better. Every student joining HVGS is required to attend a Meet and Greet.

5

Letter of Offer

An offer of a place at HVGS may be made provided a vacancy exists.

You will have 14 days to action the electronic Letter of Offer by signing it and paying the Enrolment Bond.

6

Confirmation of Enrolment

Once you sign the Letter of Offer and pay the bond, we will send you a Confirmation of Enrolment(CoE).

7

Student Orientation and Transition

Once your enrolment is confirmed, we will work with your family on a transition and orientation plan for your child.
